It has been 2 weeks since my holidays officially started.
On 28 Nov, dad, jie and i went for a 1 day trip to Malaysia. Mom wasn't able to go as she couldn't apply for leave. We (20 ppl) went there together, with xiao gu, my 2 cousins (HJ & SJ), ah bo, si gor bo, dad's workers, cek gong, johnathan, er bo.
Firstly, we headed to xin shan to have our breakfast. As usual, the hygiene standards was poor. The tables and chairs were lined up along the roadside where vehicles were free to roam - free 'pepper' and seasoning for all! Our table was filled with bao, dim sum and kopi. The food there is considered expensive - 1 big chicken pao costs RM 2.30. I think they added some sweet sauce as flavouring, together with dark soya sauce. Luckily the dim sum tastes much more acceptable.
After that, the bus travelled to a restaurant where there were already other guests seated, enjoying the delicacies and air con. It was within minutes and our food was also served. The fish which was reared by the restaurant ppl is soft, fresh and 'mian'. yummy.
Next, we went to Desaru Fruit Farm. There was a shop selling fruits, accessories, and some ornaments. Beside it was an air-conditioned room where bottles of yellow liquid were displayed. A guy introduced to us the various types of honey, and even taught us things about honey.
1. Do not use metal spoon when drinking honey water.
2. Do not add hot water into honey. It destroys the vitamins.
3. Store honey in a cool place but NOT the refrigerator.
4. Do not consume tea within 2 hours after drinking honey water. The acid in tea might destroy vitamins in honey too.
Under the scorching sun and blazing heat in mid-day, a baby pineapple was quietly growing on pot. I believe that on one could stand the heat so the tour guide dubbed Yuan Yuan quickly completed her brief intro abt the fruit. In the end, we didn't purchase anything in Desaru Fruit Farm. Not even fruits or the beneficial royal jelly.
For dinner, we had a spread. There was even mini fried lobsters. Its one first time trying it so i was rather glad to have this opportunity to savour it. The golden, crispy prawn. Apparently, the black pepper crab was just as small as what u can find in Singapore. I had a hard time breaking its shell. Why does crustaceans have such a hard covering?
Lastly, we went to look at fireflies. All of us were required to wear the suit for keeping was buoyant in water. Then, we cautiously boarded the small boat with 2 long benches. Wow. It was a magnificient sight which we can never forget. The fireflies were like christmas lightings, like dazzling stars which was resting at the bottom of the halophytes. As we sat on the boat, we could feel the breeze which made us feel relaxed and blissful. Who can be so fortunate to see so much wonderful little creatures at one go. No wonder they have this idiom 琳琅满目. Its simply wonderful and everyone relished that moment.
Generally, I'm delighted and jubilant about going to Malaysia. Thanks, Dad!
